Scuzzbucket of the Week

Ty Hickman of Jesup Iowa.

Ty Hickman was arrested Thursday night in Jesup and taken to Buchanan County Jail. A Waterloo code enforcement officer, Maria Tiller, says Hickman is charged with a misdemeanor charge of animal torture. Online court records don't list the name of Hickman's attorney.

The carcass and kennel were found February 16 on the east side of Waterloo. Waterloo Animal Control says the carcass was covered in feces and urine and it looks like the dog died of starvation or dehydration.

A reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction had reached $7,500. Tiller says tips from the public led to the arrest.

I hope this pig rots in hell.

Update March second: he was released from jail last night and didn't have to pay any bail to get out :( more than likely there will be more arrest to follow! His "friends" rolled on him (more than likely for the reward) and that is why we need high reward amounts for future cases like this, money talks!!!!

Windows Wednesday

This is one of the stained glass windows hanging in St. Genevieve Church in Bayou Liberty

According to an elderly parishioner, these particular windows hung in one of the original St. Genevieve Churches circa 1852. This lady remembers going to church not via horse or car, but by paddling up Bayou Liberty

A new LOW

I have been caught by some of the "headlines" from the satirical website The Onion . They are usually well-done, witty and really do catch you doing a double take

But the Onion reached a new low in internet blogging when they referred to Beasts of the Southern Wild's child star, 9 year old Quvenzhan Wallis as a cunt. She's 9 years old. Some one - perhaps a 18 year old drunken college student - decided that this was an easy thing to do to make other 18 year old college students laugh.

I have to admit I turned the Oscars off before the opening monologue was done due to the sophmoric comments made by the 'host' Seth McFarlane. Then I realized that this person is responsible for the show "family guy" or whatever it's real name is. I watched the program once. It's sophmoric. It's the first word I come up with. Most older people (i.e. over 50) don't get into this kind of humor. It's so ......... teenaged, 20-something. I can't identify with it.

Stooping to calling a 9 year old girl a cunt is the lowest of low.

Sure they "apologized" for it. But they really didn't mean it. To them it was funny.

Glad I'm not them.

Bayou Beauty

I was lucky enough to have my camera with me on this day in March 2007.

The Sun Room

The past several weeks have been more gloomy than sunny. The ground is saturated and it's difficult to play with my "throw the ball" Labrador in the yard without him becoming a muddy mess. So I improvise and we play ball in the house, which entails using nasty, slimy balls that leave snail trails on the floors. I refuse to wash the floors until this rainy spell is over because it would just be a waste of time.

To help pass the time during these gray days, I decided to spend some time in the Sun Room and spruce it up in anticipation of a sunny Spring. So I introduce you to my Sun Room through pictures.

This is the entrance to my room of windows.

This stunning seashell hanging was purchased in Biloxi before Katrina.

I have collected so many shells and driftwood, I decided that the Sun Room would have a "beach" theme.

After years of not having enough space, I have found a place for all my suncatchers!

This beauty was created by New Orleans artist of found object folk art Lance Vargas

The driftwood is safely tucked away from the dog!

This piece - found in Fountainbleau State Park - looks like a gator

An homage to our last trip to Dauphin Island

This piece was found in my husband's mothers house - a minnow trap. I'm looking for a spot to display it

I found this stool/table on Overstock dot com. Made in Vietnam, it's real slices of wood

Big Sam approves of the new cushions.

I can hardly wait for the warmer, sunnier days of Spring to let this room shine in all her beauty!

A Trio of Scuzzbuckets

I had reverted to doing the "Scuzzbucket" thing on a monthly basis, but it must be that time of year when people do crazy, ugly things. There were two animal abuse incidents today. In Evangeline parish, these two scumwads admitted to sexually attacking their dog, a Siberian Husky named "Nyla."

Behind bars are Joshua Granger (above, left) and Nathan Wells (above, right.)

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office issued the following news release about the arrests:

On February 3, 2013, Louisiana State Police along with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff office conducted an investigation of Joshua Granger of 1628 Ash St. in Pine Prairie and Nathan Wells of the same address. During questioning, both Wells and Granger openly admitted to having sexual contact with a female dog every time the dog would come into heat. The dog was picked up by the humane society and both subjects were arrested on Crimes Against Nature, both subject were booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail with a bond of $7,500.00, both subjects are currently out of jail on the bond.

Scuzzbucket number three is from Slidell, where I reside.

This pig of a human being - Christina Stewart - was the owner of "A Jazzy Dog" grooming Salon.

From WWL-TV, here is some of the story:
The 42-year woman has been booked with cruelty to animals, according to a release from the Slidell Police Department.

Near the end of January, Stewart became the target of a joint investigation by Slidell Police and the Animal Control Division for Slidell.
Seuzeneau said the investigation was launched after “two employees came forward to file an official complaint against Stewart citing severe animal cruelty allegations. The witnesses stated that Stewart would frequently slam the dogs onto the grooming table and proceed to choke them with a leash. During one occasion, Stewart aledgedly hung a dog in the air causing the animal to go into a seizure. In other instances, Stewart would grab a dog’s face and would slam it into the grooming table, or would strangle the dogs,”.

As investigators were looking into the allegations, a woman who worked for Stewart for less than a day came forward with additional allegations of animal cruelty.

The woman was asked to show her grooming skills on an older dog. “The potential employee was attempting to groom the dog, but the dog refused to stand up on the grooming table. Stewart interjected and said, 'Watch this. If they won’t stand, this is what I do,'" said a statement from Seuzeneau. "Stewart then picked up the elderly dog and slammed him on the grooming table multiple times.

This sickening behaviour is unnatural, abhorrent and cruel beyond belief. I wonder how these animals sleep at night. No, they are not animals, they are the lowest scum on earth. Their time is coming.

Scuzzbucket of the Month

That would be Joe Rickey Hundley, 60, who is no longer employed by AGC Aerospace and Defense, Composites Group. in Oklahoma

Hundley was on a flight from Minneapolis-to-Atlanta, set to land at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on February. 8. He was sitting next to Jessica Bennett and her 19-month-old son, who began crying as the plane started to descend.

"Jonah starts crying because he's feeling the pressure in his ears," Bennett told ABC News.

Bennett, was seated alongside Hundley, told FBI agents that she tried to get her son to stop crying when Hundley "told her to shut that ['N word'] baby up."

"I said, 'What did you just say?'" Bennett said. "And he was so drunk that he fell onto my face, and his mouth moved over to my ear and he said it, just directly into my ear."

The 33-year-old mother then says Hundley slapped her son in the face.

"When I had looked at Jonah's face, he had, his eye was swollen…and it was bleeding," Bennett said. "I was just scared to death."

Here is a video of the story from abc news:

Racist Rednecks

This is Bob Grisham, who is a football coach and - get this - psychology teacher at Rogersville Alabama .

We have recently seen the mentality of some football teams across the nation . I can't imagine my child having to listen to the horrific racist and homophobic comments spewing from this douchebag's mouth. Here is an excerpt of what went down and here a link to the whole story with audio of the comments below:

an anonymous source provided a tape of him allegedly using the slurs.

The audio clip begins with Grisham asking several young men if they knew who was behind the “600-calorie lunches” provided by public schools.

“Fat butt Michelle Obama,” Grisham says. “Look at her. She looks like she weighs 185 or 190. She’s overweight.”

“Big fat gorilla,” a male voice agrees.

“I’m serious,” Grisham continues. “Y’all, our country is, is, is going in the wrong direction.”

“It’s going straight to hell,” another person on the tape adds.

“Things won’t get better until there’s a change in some areas and stuff. And you know what [President Barack Obama's] platform was? Change,” the high school coach points out. “Y’all can get pissed off at me or not. You can go tell the principal, you can call the superintendent and tell her.”

“I don’t believe in queers, I don’t like queers,” he continues. “I don’t hate them as a person but what they do is wrong, it’s an abomination against God. I don’t like being around queers.”

Scuzzbuckets of the Month

Miami-Dade Metrorail security guards beat and arrested photographers for taking pictures of a historical public building.

We enjoy photographing architecture wherever we go.  Since when did it become against the law?  What's going on here?

According to the story in the above link:
Photographer Carols Miller and his friend were passing time while waiting for a Metrorail by taking photos of the Dade County Courthouse, which was built during the Roaring 20s and is considered to be a stunning piece of architecture.

"Then considered one of the more monumental structures in Florida, Dade County's 27-story Neoclassical-style courthouse was begun in 1925," says this historical account of the structure.

Suddenly, a voice blared over a loudspeaker ordering them to cease and desist with the photographs. The pair ignored the order, but shortly thereafter a 50 State security guard came onto the platform and confronted them.

Miller sensed that his civil rights were about to be violated once more, he asked his companion to begin videotaping the exchange.  Here's the video

Belated Windows Wednesday

It's been a heck of a two weeks for me. I have been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation and have had a lot of episodes in the last two weeks, thus the reason for no Windows Wednesday. I purchased the book Beat Your A-Fib and will learn how to keep things in control. This is NOT fun stuff.

But I digress.

Here is a shot of the stained glass window at Slidell's Old Towne Soda Shop, which recently reopened after being flooded by Katrina

Criminals is stupid

From wwl.com:

Police say a former employee of a Slidell seafood business apparently didn't think his cunning plan all the way through. (Scroll down to view video of the bucket-clad burglar.)

Investigators say 23-year--old Richard Boudreaux- former employee who planned on going on a "burglary spree" to get some quick cash.

Slidell PD Detective Daniel Seuzeneau says Boudreaux is a former employee of Kenney’s Seafood, and arrived at the business "dressed in all camouflage, wore gloves to prevent leaving fingerprints, and packed burglary tools."

Police say everything was going as planned in the caper...until Boudreaux realized he forgot his mask to cover his identity.

Detective Seuzeneau describes what happened next: "Remembering that his former place of employment had surveillance cameras, Boudreaux improvised and found a bucket to put over his head as he scoured the business, looking for money; however, the surveillance cameras caught a glimpse of his face which ultimately led to police identifying Boudreaux as the burglar."

Detectives say Boudreaux was able to get away with money from the cash register at Kenny's, then went to a nearby pawnshop and tried to burglarize that business as well.

After he could not gain entry into the closed Pawn shop, Boudreaux took his loot from the seafood business and went home, according to police.

Shame on you, Congress

Despite pleas for voting on Sandy Relief legislation, the U.S. House adjourns.

To those "representatives" of their country, shame on you. Why would you not want to help the victims of the massive storm Sandy? Were you that much in a hurry to go home? Well, next election I hope you do go home for good.

Here is a list of those who opted not to vote on Sandy relief. May they rot in hell
