There is a New Orleans blog written by a Facebook "friend" of mine. His name is Lance Vargas and he is an awesome person, very personable and excellent when it comes to describing what it's like to be an artist around Jackson Square.
Here is a sample of his work.
Please take the time to read it, enjoy laughing and - if you are not from here and are visiting New Orleans - be sure to look for Varg. He rocks.

"French Quarter Artists," now there's a subject near and dear to my heart, (Dad sold some of his stuff back in the late 30s-early 40s and then went off to war.) I love those guys and gals. You can get a great bargain and an original piece of art that no one else would have.
thanks judy, that was a good read.
when i was a little girl, i can remember telling my parents that when i grew up, i was going to be an artist on Jackson Square. :)
OMG, I am so hooked on that blog now. I've been over there reading for hours.
Varg is a great artist/blogger and person. I have several pieces of his art and love it!
