Bizarro
John McAfee, the antivirus software pioneer , has "suffered two mild heart attacks," Reuters reports.
McAfee, 67, was taken to a hospital in Guatemala after having convulsions, according to CNN.
The Associated Press, however, reports that McAfee was suffering only from "high stress"
McAfee is wanted in Belize for questioning in in connection with the death of his neighbor there. He has been on the run for weeks and was detained in Guatemala on Wednesday on suspicion of entering the country illegally, officials said.
His lawyer, Telesforo Guerra, filed a formal request for asylum with Guatemalan officials Wednesday.
from CNN
The case began to unfold on November 9, when McAfee told police someone had poisoned four of his dogs. To put them out of their misery, he shot each in the head and buried them on his property, a former girlfriend said.
Officials say the dogs' barking and aggressive behavior was a frequent source of friction between McAfee and his neighbor, American businessman Gregory Faull.
Then Faull turned up dead -- two days after the poisoning -- with a gunshot wound to the head. He was in his own living room.
A 9 mm shell was found on the second step on the first floor, and Faull was found dead on the second floor of the home in a remote area of Belize.
Authorities in Belize have wanted to question McAfee about the death. He refused and then went into hiding.
Despite his disappearance, McAfee, 67, has remained in contact with the media, through this link providing a stream of colorful bulletins over his predicament, state of mind and his claim that Belize's authorities want to kill him

RIP Zig
Zig Ziglar died Wednesday at age 86, a motivational speaker whose clever way with words inspired millions to stop looking for shortcuts to success -- and instead earn it the old-fashioned way by rolling up their sleeves and getting to work.

Here is a closeup of a window near the River Landing in Covington, Louisiana
The window is part of this building, the Covington Masonic Lodge, at the end of Columbia Street.
A few years ago this building housed a sound studio that has since moved on.

Why I like Autumn in SE Louisiana
We took the afternoon off and just sat in the front yard and entertained the dog and cats. I was able to slide through several magazines - even READING some articles - and enjoyed the sunshine and absolutely perfect weather. All in all it was a much needed quiet, comfy afternoon. Around three in the afternoon we took advantage of the light and walked our property and took pictures. What follows are our favorites. Hope you enjoy.
My life's partner enjoying this afternoon and nursing a bad sinus/unknown kind of funk.
Since I retired, my main job is to keep this goofball happy. That means throwing the ball for him to retrieve. He managed to do 3 hours of it this afternoon!!
Deuce!
We moved into our house in April and I just love the long driveway.
Now I grew up in New England and I know that their fall colors are far superior to the following photos, but we take what we can get. I'll take this type of color change in exchange for very short, enjoyable, snow-free winters.
Magnolia leaves
One of the three stunning live oaks that grace our property.
