Pre-Karma

I call it "pre-Karma" because he hasn't been convicted yet.

BREAKING: MAGA Governor Ron DeSantis is caught in a jaw-dropping scandal as it's exposed that he funneled $10 million in taxpayer money to his wife's charity, who gave it to dark money groups, who then donated $8.5 million to his minion's PAC.

Even Republicans are calling this illegal. It's the kind of corruption that ends up in history books...
The scandal originated with a settlement agreement between Florda and Centene, the state's largest Medicaid contractor, after it was discovered that the company had over-billed taxpayers for medications by a staggering $67,048,611.
Instead of depositing that money in state and federal accounts like they were supposed to, DeSantis's administration funneled $10 million of it to the Hope Florida Foundation, a charity overseen by his wife Casey DeSantis.
That money was then rerouted to two dark money organizations that are not legally required to report how they spend their funds. Those very same groups then turned around and gave $8.5 million to a PAC overseen by DeSantis’ then-chief of staff.
The stunning embezzlement scheme was exposed by a draft agreement obtained by The Miami Herald which directly contradicts claims made by DeSantis and his officials that the $10 million contribution from Centene was separate from the Medicaid settlement.
"This is kind of like a cherry on top, where they agreed to make an additional contribution," DeSantis lied.
This is nothing short of a heist of public funds. DeSantis took money that belonged to the people of Florida and deposited it right into the pocket of his wife and his lackey's political action committee.
If DeSantis and everyone involved in this crime don't end up behind bars, it will be a grave miscarriage of justice. Republicans all across the country will see it as open season on the public coffers.

drumpf vs Federal Reserve

BREAKING: The conservative Wall Street Journal stuns MAGA world by ripping into Donald Trump with a scathing editorial in defense of Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell — who Trump wants to "terminate" for disobedience.

Even right-wingers are running for the hills now...
"The problem for Mr. Trump is that Mr. Powell spoke the truth. The main lesson from Trump vs. Powell is that the central bank can’t make up for the economic policy errors of politicians," the Journal's editorial board wrote.
They stated that Trump's "tariff war isn't going well," causing "market ructions and evidence of a slowing economy" and now he's demanding that "the Federal Reserve ride to his rescue by cutting interest rates."
Yesterday, Trump had a full-blown meltdown on Truth Social, accusing "Too Late" Jerome Powell of being "always TOO LATE AND WRONG" and smearing his recent report as a "typical, complete mess" before adding that his "termination cannot come fast enough."
The outburst was prompted by Powell stating that the "level of the tariff increases announced so far is significantly larger than anticipated."
"We may find ourselves in the challenging scenario in which our dual-mandate goals are in tension," said Powell.
The Fed is tasked with promoting full employment while managing inflation. The tariffs are raising inflation because the import duties are passed on to consumers and companies are laying of workers to make up for lost profits.
Powell said that the Fed will wait to get a better sense of the impact of the tariffs before taking any action.
In their editorial, The Wall Street Journal supported Powell's analysis—
"Tariffs are a tax, which means higher prices for tariffed goods. Mr. Trump has imposed a minimum tariff on the world of 10%, which is roughly four times the previous average U.S. tariff rate of 2.4%," they wrote.
They pointed to "mounting evidence" that "household and business uncertainty is mounting" which will in turn suppress the "private investment" that Trump needs to "spur growth."
"Consumer spending could ebb as falling stock prices cause the 'wealth effect' underpinning consumer confidence to go into reverse. Many economists think a recession is on the horizon," they wrote.
They went on to Trump's tariffs as the "biggest assault one the world trading system" since Richard Nixon moved the U.S. dollar off the gold standard.
The editorial ended with an analysis of Trump's desire to fire Powell, a possibly illegal move that would prompt a protracted court battle—
"The President often talks in private of firing the Fed Chairman, who wouldn’t go quietly," they wrote. "This would tee up a protracted legal fight, with market turmoil to match as investors awaited a Supreme Court ruling on the legality of dismissal."
"That’s the last fight Mr. Trump needs now," the piece concludes. SOURCE: Occupy Democrats

Hello In There

John Prine wrote a song called "Hello in There," which encourages kindness and respect toward older people, and reminds listeners that "You know that old trees just grow stronger / And old rivers grow wilder every day / Old people just grow lonesome / Waiting for someone to say, 'Hello in there, hello.'" Prine was in his 20s when he wrote and recorded the song, but said in the Great Days liner notes that he "always had an affinity for old people." "I used to help a buddy with his newspaper route, and I delivered to a Baptist old people's home where we’d have to go room to room. And some of the patients would kind of pretend that you were a grandchild or nephew that had come to visit, instead of the guy delivering papers. That always stuck in my head," Prine explained. "It was all that stuff together, along with that pretty melody." Although the song wasn't a chart hit, it remains among those often covered by Prine's fans and fellow artists. It was added to the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2015, and helped Prine earn a Best New Artist nomination at the 1973 Grammy Awards.
