AT LAST

After almost a month, I am cautiously letting out a breath of relief.

I know this will be a long hard fight, but AT LEAST SOMEONE IS DOING SOMETHING ABOUT ELON MUSK

Here is the link to the press conference with NY AG Leticia James  and Connetitcut Attorney General William Tong.

Honore on Musk

BREAKING: Renowned former U.S. Army Lieutenant General Russel L. Honoré sounds the alarm about the "national security risk" posed by MAGA billionaire Elon Musk — and he didn't hold back.

America can not afford to ignore this... "Mr. Musk’s business ventures are heavily reliant on China. He borrowed at least $1.4 billion from banks controlled by the Chinese government to help build Tesla’s Shanghai gigafactory, which was responsible for more than half of Tesla’s global deliveries in the third quarter of 2024," the general writes in an Op-Ed for The New York Times.

"China does not tend to give things away," he adds. "The country’s laws stipulate that the Communist Party can demand intelligence from any company doing business in China, in exchange for participating in the country’s markets."

According to Honoré, this means that China could demand that Musk hand over sensitive materials due to his close proximity to the Trump administration, using his businesses as leverage.

"The last thing the United States needs is for China to potentially have an easier way of obtaining classified intelligence and national security information," writes the general"

"The question now is whether the incoming Trump administration will take this risk seriously," Honoré adds. "The fact that Mr. Musk spent a quarter of a billion dollars to help re-elect Mr. Trump does not give the incoming White House the license to look the other way at the national security risks he may pose," he writes. "If Mr. Trump and his appointees mean what they say about getting tough on America’s adversaries, then they will act on this matter without delay. There is too much at stake to ignore what’s right in front of them," concludes Honoré. He is absolutely right. Musk's dream of being a corrupt oligarch who rules over America cannot be allowed to endanger us all. He must be investigated immediately.

From Democracy Docket - February 6, 2025

Trump administration’s deferred resignation offer halted

  • Just hours before federal workers had to decide on President Donald Trump’s administration’s “Fork in the Road” buyout offer, a Massachusetts federal judge temporarily halted the program until at least next Monday to hold another hearing.

DOGE blocked from accessing data in Labor and Treasury departments

  • In a lawsuit challenging DOGE’s legal authority, the DOJ agreed today to restrict Elon Musk from accessing sensitive personal and financial Treasury data amid ongoing litigation. Two DOGE affiliates maintain “read-only” access to payment records.

  • Also, the Department of Labor (DOL) agreed today to not share any records with DOGE before a hearing for a long-term block on DOGE's access takes place tomorrow. As of now, Musk’s faux agency has not been able to access DOL data.

Senate Democrats hold floor in all-night protest of Trump’s OMB nominee

  • Democratic senators took to the floor of the U.S. Senate on Wednesday evening — through the night and well into Thursday morning — to vehemently voice their opposition to Russell Vought, Trump’s nominee to lead the Office of Management and Budget.

Hearings coming up tomorrow

  • A hearing held today in a federal Washington, D.C. court  — involving two cases filed by FBI agents seeking to block the DOJ from compiling a list of staff who worked on Trump's Jan. 6 and classified documents cases — will continue tomorrow at 11. a.m.

  • A Massachusetts court will hear a lawsuit challenging Trump's birthright citizenship executive order. Democratic officials in 18 states argue that the order violates the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

The Elon Musk Act

BREAKING: Democrats go right for Elon Musk's jugular and introduce a bill to ban special government employees from obtaining federal contracts — directly threatening his lucrative government gravy train.

The best part is the name of the bill...
Representative Mark Pocan introduced the legislation which is titled "Eliminate Looting of Our Nation by Mitigating Unethical State Kleptocracy (ELON MUSK)."
"Elon Musk gets more than $20 billion in contracts from the US government and bought his way into a new role in the government where he can direct even more money to himself. Enough," Pocan wrote on X.
"My new bill, the ELON MUSK Act, will end this grift!" he added.
Musk's so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has become a lightning rod for criticism as the billionaire's unelected minions work to gut the federal government by rummaging through the Treasury Department's systems.
"@ElonMusk is ripping us off and like millions of Americans across the country, I’m pissed," Pocan added in another post.
"I’m taking action by introducing the ELON MUSK Act, preventing grifters like him from getting richer while pillaging our tax dollars for himself," he wrote.
Pocan is absolutely right. Musk's increasing control over our government while making money off government contracts is the definition of a conflict of interest. He and Trump are transitioning us from a democracy into a full-blown oligarchy.
Enough is enough. Pass this bill immediately.
