UPDATE July 23: ELLISVILLE, Miss. -
WHLT 22 Connecting the Pine Belt
The Ellisville Animal Holding Facility that's received statewide attention online is demolished.
It had two windows and no air.
Several animal advocates said it was unfit.
It was a temporary holding facility for animals that were abused or unwanted.
According to Ellisville Mayor Tim Waldrup there were two animals there who were returned to their owners.
Now a local resident is helping raise money to build a new facility.
