RIP Reverend Goat
It is with deep sadness to say the great Reverend Goat David Carson passed earlier this morning. This last several days he has been in the dear company of many of his closest longtime friends. His last few days were spent singing songs and music with Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, Papa Mali, Rockin Dopsie Jr, Frenchy, Honey, Katarina, Suzette & myself. We smiled, we laughed, we loved together, so deeply.
A memorial & celebration of his life will be planned soon for Congo Square led by myself, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux and Papa Mali, and joined in like company by all those who loved Reverend Goat so dearly. — with David Carson. Written by David Brinks on FB.
There's a great story https://www.texasmonthly.com/articles/getting-my-goat/">here
about his stay at a friend's place in Texas after Katrina.
For some reason I'm having a brain fart (or Blogger changed things) and my link looks strange, I apologize.

MAGA in a nutshell
Found on Twitter
At a gas station, a guy comes up after seeing my "FUCK TRUMP" sign:
Him: You know why we love Trump so much?
Me: ...no...
Him: Because he gets under the skin of liberal faggots like you. We don't care what he fucks up, as long as he pisses you off.."
#MAGA in a nutshell.

R.I.P. Anthony Bordain
CNN confirmed the death, saying in a statement that Bourdain was found unresponsive Friday morning by friend and chef Eric Ripert in the French city of Strasbourg. The network called it a suicide without providing any additional details.
Feeling shocked, saddened, numbed by this news.

RIP doubtful. Tony’s restless spirit will roam the earth in search of justice, truth and a great bowl of noodles. @Bourdain
His swagger, his prose, his grit. Tony didn’t give a fuck the way most of us wish we could. That’s what made him special. Right now He, Bukowski, Hemingway and Wilde are splitting a bottle of scotch, swapping war stories, prepared to drink each other under the table, with verve.
“Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you... You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.” — Anthony Bourdain #RIP
Still reeling. As my friend Tony Page just texted, “He left when America needed him most.” #Bourdain Tell the people you love, every day, that you love them. Sorry, just so crushed and sad
Welcome to Heaven, Anthony Bourdain. That’s right, you got into Heaven because you were a good person. Come, we’ve prepared a feast with all your favorite Earth food, plus some delicious stuff from other galaxies you haven’t tried yet.
Anthony was my best friend. An exceptional human being, so inspiring & generous. One of the great storytellers who connected w so many. I pray he is at peace from the bottom of my heart. My love & prayers are also w his family, friends and loved ones.
Anthony Bourdain had money, he had fame, he was respected. He had maybe the coolest job I can conceive of. This is all by way of saying: Depression doesn’t give a single solitary fuck. Get help if you need help. We need you here. Suicide prevention hotline: 1-800-273-8255
My absolute favorite Bourdain line:
"Vegetarians, and their Hezbollah-like splinter-faction, the vegans, are a persistent irritant to any chef worth a damn."
When I traveled to some exotic place I’d not been before -the last were Beirut and Amman- I’d text Bourdain & ask where I should eat. He gave the best, most fun recommendations. I’d like to think he’s scouting out the best watering holes and places to eat in heaven, right now.
As @NASA searches for life on Mars, we lose the life of beloved Anthony Bourdain on Earth. Implicit and explicit reminders of how precious life is, anywhere in the universe.
Im so angry this morning. Life is fucking hard and crazy and Tony I love you. Im wearing your boots that I never wore because they were yours, and going to work. Everyone should hug some extra people today. My heart is heavy. http://bit.ly/2LA7llU
Just saw the sad news that Anthony Bourdain has died. I watched his show when I was in space. It made me feel more connected to the planet, its people and cultures and made my time there more palatable. He inspired me to see the world up close. #RIPAnthonyBourdain

Because thats who he was, inside out What you saw was actually like being with him. I adore, respect, admire Anderson Cooper but I don’t feel I know him personally. Tony had some kind of gift. Ive said he was a freak of nature. We won’t see his likes again. The gods cry tonight

I don't know why it feels like a personal loss that even those of us who only knew him as a TV personality are shedding tears. Just watched you on CNN tonight and wanted to share the heartache. I feel I lost a family member today...it hurts and I know I share this pain with many.
