Windows Wednesday
The stairs along the riverfront are reflected in the windows of the tug J.K. McLean a "Z-class" tugboat.
The workers on the boat were lucky to be able to attend the 2013 New Orleans Oyster Festival along the Mississippi earlier this year.

Scuzzbuckets of the Week
I am really at a loss as to how the GOP thinks. They continuously try to kill the Affordable Care Act (AKA Obamacare). I heard somewhere that they have fought the plan - which is now the law - over 45 different times. And the cost of their temper tantrums is unimaginable.
Their latest move is to slash Food Stamp funding in order to effort to effort to "pare the cost and size of government by reducing federal spending." As if there aren't any other alternatives to cut federal spending.
The map below shows Food Stamp averages by state for 2012. Not all Food Stamp recipients are living on the government dole, as some like to think of them. The average Food Stamp monthly benefit in 2012 is $133 per month. Yeah, that's sure dragging down government spending
Food stamp monthly averages 2012 participation in SNAP, as a percent of total state population
Here - by state - are the names of those people who voted to cut $39 million dollars over the next decade for Food Stamps.

Scuzzbuckets of the Week
The frat boys at LSU chapter of the Delta Kappa Epsilon hung a banner for Saturday's LSU-Kent State game that said, "Getting massacred is nothing new to Kent State," referencing the 1970 Kent State shootings. Their actions are true to Randy Newman's lyrics And college men from LSU
Went in dumb. Come out dumb too
WTF were you drunken morons thinking? Perhaps you didn't learn it in school, or your parents didn't tell you about it, but DAMN, kids!!! What an horrific thing to do!
In a weak apology, the poor little hungover idiots posted this banner today. At least nothing was misspelled.

Windows Wednesday
I had a hard time accessing Blogger on my laptop yesterday. So today I got on my desktop and no problems!
I wanted to post a 9/11 picture, but decided not to today. Today I've traveled back over 7 years to New Orleans East.
Heavily decimated by Katrina, the East was slow to come back- and still looks sad in some areas. Here's an apartment complex being built. Today all of those windows hopefully have tentants that use these windows to bring sunshine into their homes. God Bless the East.

Scuzzbucket of the Week
To begin with I'd like to state that this is my blog. Whomever I choose as SOTW is based on my knee-jerk reaction to idiots on parade....lately the idiots are of GOP persuasion.
My nomination for Scuzzbucket of the Week is the rich guy with the rich guy's name:
Saxby Chambliss from the great state of Jo-Ja.
Today old Sax decided to be interviewed by Faux News about President Obama and Syria.
Here is his quote:
"President Obama may have drawn a so-called red line last year on the Assad regime's use of chemical weapons because he didn't have the assistance of a teleprompter.
“Well, what it says to me is that the president gets lost when he doesn’t have a teleprompter in front of him, which he obviously didn’t last year,” Chambliss said.
I realize this is is just another "let's make Obama look bad" put on my the GOP and Faux news, but sometimes you just have to say "FUCK YOU". Really, it helps. That was my knee-jerk reaction to this elitists' opinion.
So FUCK YOU, SAXBY and your name is weird. I didn't even google you. I just wanted to vent.
That's all I have to say.
Happy Friday.

Windows Wednesday
This slightly wacky window was spotted in New Orleans during the Creole Tomato Festival.
I miss creole tomatoes, only available for a month every year, their meaty texture and that trademark flavor make us want to venture out on a sizzling June weekend to attend a festival that showcases these luscious jewels.
