Hey! The time is NOW

While doing dishes tonight, I reflected on the days news. And became royally PISSED OFF.

HEY,Washington DC!!! THE TIME IS NOW. Y'all have been fucking around with this fiscal cliff bullshit and other bills that pisses me off.

It's time for ELECTED AMERICANS to do their jobs.

It's time for AMERICANS to flood the with messagesto do the right thing - which is just the opposite of where their allegiances are now.

What's sad is that the people you voted for made false promises to get your votes and then joined the "good old boys club" which locked them into votes that were against their initial heartfelt beliefs. It's sickening.

So we won't go over the "FISCAL CLIFF". These SOB's will just delay the vote for another group to vote on. Talk about limp dicks. Funny, when I think of limp dicks, all I see are John Bay-nor's and Mich McConnell's faces.

How do these people think they earn their paychecks?

Trouble in India

The 23 year old woman who was brutally gang raped in India has died.

Her intestines were removed due to the injuries caused by a metal rod used during the rape. She was flown to Singapore on Wednesday night after being treated at a local hospital.

The attack has spurred disgust and anger in India, where women regularly face sexual harassment and assault. “The emergence of women in public spaces, which is an absolutely essential part of social emancipation, is accompanied by growing threats to their safety and security,” 80 year old Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said in a speech on Thursday. “We must reflect on this problem, which occurs in all states and regions of our country, and which requires greater attention.”

I guess it's a cultural thing, but for gang rapes to occur in all states and regions sounds like MUCH greater attention is needed and IMMEDIATE changes must be made.

Some tweets on this horrific subject

Instead of focusing on women keeping themselves safe all the time, let's focus more on stopping men raping. #DelhigangRape

SInce #DelhiGangRape on Dec 17, there've been 18 gang rapes reported in India. Yes, you read that right: gang rapes.”

Incredibly sad to read that woman who survived #DelhiGangRape seems to be deteriorating. Remember: after rape, they threw her off moving bus

Please pray for the victim, her family and all of the other victims worldwide who've had to experience such hell on earth.

Scuzzbucket from the South

Racist Redneck Danny Hafley, center.

My latest scumbag hails from the bluegrass state of Kentucky .

His name is Danny Hafley. Here is his part of the story:

From Hufpo:
Danny Hafley of Casey County, Ky. said this week that people are reading the mannequin in his front yard depicting President Barack Obama eating a watermelon completely wrong

"The way I look at it, it's freedom of speech," Hafley said in a recent interview, going on to state that he had included the watermelon not in attempt to play to any racist stereotypes, but because the statue "might get hungry standing out here."

Now that a black president has been elected and RE-elected - with OVER 50% of the vote - the rednecks and scary ultra conservatives are coming out using their freedom of speech in a 1960's racist manner. And that's okay, this is America.

I am SO very sick of things like this happening in our country. The United States was built to believe that everyone is welcome. No race/creed/color matters

In fact, have you noticed how beautiful

multi-racial children are?

To all of you bigotted (is that spelled right?) rednecks: continue to show how ignorant, shallow and uneducated you are. You're not getting it. Stop thinking about your views and start thinking about rebuilding ALL of America to welcome and create a diverse culture. You just might learn from it.

Let's hope this story of America in 2012 is a turning point in our silly, childish racist views.

RIP Stormin Norman

Happy Christmas Carol

The Winter Solstice

The winter solstice occurs today, December 21 at 6:38 p.m. EST, marking the official start of the astronomical winter and the shortest day of the year for the Northern Hemisphere.

The winter solstice occurs at the moment when the Earth's axis is tilted the farthest away from the sun.
This year, the winter solstice is even more significant, as it coincides with a total lunar eclipse for the first time since 1638.

Many different cultures recognize the annual event through holidays, festivals, rituals and celebrations.

In Poland the ancient December solstice observance involved people showing forgiveness and sharing food.

In the northwestern corner of Pakistan, a festival called Chaomos, takes place among the Kalasha people. The only tribe in the area, who never converted to Islam, celebrate the new year with a vibrant flurry of dancing, food, chanting and prayers to the Balomain spirit. The festival lasts for days and moves throughout the valley.
Copious amounts of local brewed mulberry wine to drink as you dance in giant circles around bonfires to mesmerizing chanting accompanied by drum beats. Girls wear intricate costumes made of cowery shells, coins
and beads with heavy headwear while women paint their faces with ink.

Just before the main festival, seasonal foods are offered to the ancestral spirts and a kotik light is lit.

In Guatemala on this day, Mayan Indians honor the sun god they worshipped long before they became Christians with a dangerous ritual known as the polo voladore, or “flying pole dance”.

Three men climb on top of a 50-foot pole. As one of them beats a drum and plays a flute, the other two men wind a rope attached to the pole around one foot and jump. If they land on their feet, it is believed that the sun god will be pleased and that the days will start getting longer.

The ancient Incas celebrated a special festival to honor the sun god at the time of the December solstice. A local group of Quecia Indians in Cusco, Peru, revived the festival in the 1950s. It is now a major festival that begins in Cusco and proceeds to an ancient amphitheater a few miles away.

So go out and start your own Winter Solstice traditions tonight!

Self Perception

Found on Facebook

A while back, at the entrance of a gym, there was a picture of a very thin and beautiful woman. The caption was "This summer, do you want to be a mermaid or a whale?"

The story goes, a woman (of clothing size unknown) answered the following way:

"Dear people, whales are always surrounded by friends (dolphins, seals, curious humans), they are sexually active and raise their children with great tenderness.
They entertain like crazy with dolphins and eat lots of prawns. They swim all day and travel to fantastic places like Patagonia, the Barents Sea or the coral reefs of Polynesia.
They sing incredibly well and sometimes even are on cds. They are impressive and dearly loved animals, which everyone defend and admires.

Mermaids do not exist.

But if they existed, they would line up to see a psychologist because of a problem of split personality: woman or fish?
They would have no sex life and could not bear children.
Yes, they would be lovely, but lonely and sad.
And, who wants a girl that smells like fish by his side?

Without a doubt, I'd rather be a whale.

At a time when the media tells us that only thin is beautiful, I prefer to eat ice cream with my kids, to have dinner with my husband, to eat and drink and have fun with my friends.

We women, we gain weight because we accumulate so much wisdom and knowledge that there isn't enough space in our heads, and it spreads all over our bodies.
We are not fat, we are greatly cultivated.
Every time I see my curves in the mirror, I tell myself: "How amazing am I ?! "

Bizarro

John McAfee, the antivirus software pioneer , has "suffered two mild heart attacks," Reuters reports.

McAfee, 67, was taken to a hospital in Guatemala after having convulsions, according to CNN.

The Associated Press, however, reports that McAfee was suffering only from "high stress"

McAfee is wanted in Belize for questioning in in connection with the death of his neighbor there. He has been on the run for weeks and was detained in Guatemala on Wednesday on suspicion of entering the country illegally, officials said.

His lawyer, Telesforo Guerra, filed a formal request for asylum with Guatemalan officials Wednesday.

from CNN

The case began to unfold on November 9, when McAfee told police someone had poisoned four of his dogs. To put them out of their misery, he shot each in the head and buried them on his property, a former girlfriend said.
Officials say the dogs' barking and aggressive behavior was a frequent source of friction between McAfee and his neighbor, American businessman Gregory Faull.

Then Faull turned up dead -- two days after the poisoning -- with a gunshot wound to the head. He was in his own living room.

A 9 mm shell was found on the second step on the first floor, and Faull was found dead on the second floor of the home in a remote area of Belize.

Authorities in Belize have wanted to question McAfee about the death. He refused and then went into hiding.

Despite his disappearance, McAfee, 67, has remained in contact with the media, through this link providing a stream of colorful bulletins over his predicament, state of mind and his claim that Belize's authorities want to kill him
